Motu Sene

Journey of Discovery – Motu Sene is a growing collection of stories exploring the history, language, customs and cultural memory of the Motu Koitabu people.

Drawing from oral histories, archival writings, family memories and personal reflection, each book uncovers the deeper meaning carried within our names, places, traditions and everyday actions. These are stories of migration and settlement, courage and kindness, discipline and leadership, language and belonging.

Some preserve legends passed down through generations. Others revisit forgotten people, cultural practices and ancestral wisdom recorded in old documents and memories. Together, they remind us that history does not live only in textbooks - it also lives in the words we speak, the places we inhabit and the lessons our elders leave behind.

Written in a personal storytelling style by Mea Podi Vai, this collection invites readers to pause, reflect and rediscover the quiet cultural connections that continue to shape who we are.
